Artist's Description

A day in the life in Aosta, Italy. Aosta, located in a valley in northwestern Italy within the Italian Alps, has quite a long history. It was settled in in pre-Roman days, conqured by the Roman, then later by the Burungians, Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Lombards, the Franks. There's good skiing in the area, and apparently that was important to everyone. It's possible there were military reasons as well, as this valley was on of the possible routes Hannibal took when he crossed the Alps into now Italy. A good route in and out of the area.

Today Aosta is like many other Italian cities. There are remains of Roman architecture, Medieval buildings and people living day to day. And tourists, here for the scenery (gorgeous mountains), the history, or perhaps the skiing.

Painting the things I see reflect the wonder I had when I first saw them. I hope that when people see my works, they think the subject matter is interesting, whether or not they like the painting. Oh..and I paint flowers too, among other...
